Receiving Mission Training – I had the rare opportunity to attend the CODAR Training at Mission Training Institute, in Colorado Springs this past April. Truly, it was both life changing for me personally and incredibly informative. 21 of us gathered from all around the world to focus specifically on learning how to apply many new tools in helping with our Member Care. I was able to bring home new resources to draw from for Adventive. I am on a new track it seems and I feel strengthened with the desire to continue growing forward in this area of caring for our missionaries and their families. So many of you were praying for me, sending words of encouragement and I wanted to be sure to thank you for supporting me so intentionally. I am touched by your care.
Offering Mission Training – Recently, my church has agreed to continue with monthly support and are allowing me to help with debriefing their Short Term missionaries, bring support to team leaders by offering their teams some preparation and teaching. I thoroughly enjoy seeing how God continues to raise up so many to come alongside the work He is doing in other lands that we get to join in and be a part of!
We had a wonderful opportunity to meet up with Richard and Rosa Smith from My Refuge Christian Ministry, in Belize, as their family was visiting here in Minnesota.
Our Adventive Team
Von and Willie led at work-team from my church back to Alaska to offer volunteer work on several needed projects around the school and dorms at Alaska Christian College. This precious school, for most native Alaskans, is a first time experience away from their villages while studying the Bible and beginning that transition into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and discovering their talents. Von and Willie head out for more mission work this summer with YWAM’s Mission Builders program and then again this fall continuing to invest in the lives of these searching, growing students at ACC in Alaska.
Canadian, Stephanie has just completed a 10-day outreach in New Your City to those in need of prayer and encouragement. She graduated in May from the IHOP training and moved back to Canada and is praying about what God would have next for her.
Mikaela will be heading to YWAM, in Kona, Hawaii. She will be entering the DTS program there and continuing on doing an outreach internationally. She will be gone 6 months! Please pray for Mikaela as she ventures out into this learning, growing experience and serve with all her heart.
WELCOME New ACCI Long-Term Contractors
L & R -We also welcome another dear couple that are serving in a country sensitive situation, so we are unable to give their names and location on the internet. They are committed to calling God has put on their hearts in their Christian work and I would be glad to tell you about if you ask me in person!
We are in the process of prayerfully considering 5 other applicants. Please consider praying for our staff over the next couple of months as we walk out each conversation and the entire process with each applicant. Thank you very much.

New Album Release is SOON to be released! ACCI contractor Pastor Herdie has faced some challenges while recording this album. Please continue to pray for the final “mixing and mastering” steps as he completes this long awaited project. God has his blessing on this already and I trust he will continue to use Pastor Herdies’s music to encourage and touch many lives of the Garifuna people throughout Central America. I’ll keep you updated on the release of this new album.
Watch for the launch of our newly designed ACCI website! It will be ready soon at www.adventive.ca ! We’re JUST about done!
Member Care. Lauren Roth, ACCI’s Canadian director, and I will be traveling Monday July 4-7, to Toronto to spend time with our contractors, Jason and Sarah Goertzen, who will be visiting from New Zealand. We’re looking forward to seeing them and hearing firsthand about their work in Aukland at Fit 4 Life.
July 17-Aug. 2- I’ll be facilitating a short-term mission youth team to Hopkins, Belize, along with Pastor Luke Haggett from Chapel Ridge Church, Ottawa, Canada. ACCI missionary Kathy McDonald will join with me in helping to host this team. Thank you for praying as the team has completely met their financial goal and have a long list of prayer supporters as well going with us! (If you feel led to give a financial gift toward this mission, the giving instructions are at the bottom of this blog. Thank you! I’m still a bit short myself.)
- For the Chapel Ridge Canadian Belize team that I will be field-facilitating July 17-Aug. 3, as we serve together, for our health, wisdom, and safety
- For the Lord to raise up additional monthly prayer and financial partners to stand with me
- For continued protection around Luke and I as a family, our marriage, balance of work/home life, as I am away traveling
- Wisdom as a staff team as we prayerfully consider new missionary applications that come in to us.
I’d be glad to add you to my prayer email list. Once in a while I send out a need for prayer covering. Just bump me an email and I’ll add you on my list by clicking HERE.
Would you consider becoming a monthly giving partner for one year? And by the way, no amount is too small. If you do feel led to do so, just go online to our ACCI website HERE, choose Donate Now US, then choose if you’d prefer to give monthly or a one-time gift, then find my name under United States, and you’re done! Or I can email you a giving slip if you’d prefer to donate by regular mail.
Annual Financial Update Coming in May. Soon I’ll be sending out my annual ACCI financial update, where I’ll share in more detail about my past 5 years serving with ACCI. I’m reading a wonderful book titled The God Ask, which has been a helpful tool, written from a biblical perspective about fundraising. I highly recommend it!
