July 28-August 13
Thank you all for patiently waiting for my update from our family team mission to Belize. Our schedule went pretty much as planned and our days were extremely full. The internet was unreliable randomly going on and off in the village so I’m sorry I was never able to get updates out to you during our time in Belize.
I am truly humbled by this family team. I would go on this mission all over again, entirely, if given the opportunity. Each person’s prayerful, obedient approach to their service, their conversations and relationships was done humbly, compassionately with great discernment and wisdom. I was appreciative and touched by their sacrifice and love that was demonstrated both toward their team members, while also extending the same to each person around them in the church and village. I am blessed and honored to have been part of this team.
My prayer is that each of us was able to bring a measure of encouragement and hope to those we spent time with and that the younger generation we had the privilege to serve and love on, understood the love of Jesus through us in some tangible way, as we enjoyed our time together.
For fun, I made a slide show with Pastor Herdie’s music and captions instead of writing a long written report about our time together in Belize.
I want to personally thank you all, again, for your prayer covering and intentionality to come along with us and be a vital part of our mission, together.
Continuing to Serve Christ Together,
P.S. Here are some extra bonus pics to enjoy!
Hello Friends and Family.
We are very excited to be heading to Belize this week to serve alongside the church in Hopkins Village with Pastor Herdie Castillo and his church family. Luke and I want to express, again, our gratitude to each of you for your care and incredible support making it possible for me to serve abroad and from home, full time with ACCI.
This Belize team is mostly new to Belize, and primarily from my home church, Plymouth Covenant Church. It is an “all family” team and that also excites me. We leave with great anticipation of all the opportunities God has in place for us and as we make ourselves available to step into those opportunities and serve one another and others.
Please allow me to introduce you to my wonderful Belize Team.
The Sosa Family: Sara (Team Leader) & her husband Carlos, Emma is 17 & Matteo is 12

The Huberty Family: Dennis & Dierdra, Abigale is 13, Isaiah is 15 and Machaira is 11
ACCI missionary veteran of 30 years, Kathy McDonald also will join us in country. Austin and Kathy will be a valued help in supporting our team in helping others on our team adapting around the village.
Austin and I will be arriving in Belize 3 days ahead of the team to get all the service opportunities in place ahead of the team. I will be staying on one day longer to meet with some ministry leaders in Belmopan, arriving home August 13th.
